SEED QUALITY CONTROL

• IFFDC has established a well-defined Quality Control Mechanism for its Seed Production Initiative fundamentally aimed at enhancing the quality assurance of the seeds it produces. For ensuring the highest standards through rigorous Quality Testing Mechanism, it has established a Seed Test Laboratory (STL) equipped with modern machines and tools at its Seed Processing Unit (SPU), Chapartala, Distt. Lakhimpur Khiri (Uttar Pradesh).

• During the year, 4735 seed samples of various crops have been tested and the results were communicated to the concerned seed production units of IFFDc for appropriate necessary action. This proactive approach not only fosters better seed quality but also supports the farmers by providing them with high-standard agricultural seeds that can contribute to improve crop yield. • IFFDC has an inbuilt Internal Quality Control system which involves inspection and control at various critical stages viz, Field/Crop level, Post harvest, Raw Seed Intake, Processing, Packaging, Storage and Transportation etc.
• Every seed lot that comes into the processing centers is thoroughly examined with diligence by our qualified staff for physical purity, ODV, diseases, moisture content, genetic purity and germination.
