CSR INITIATIVES

“Corporate Social Responsibility"  (CSR) is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with their stakeholders. CSR is generally understood as being the way through which a company achieves a balance of economic, environmental and social imperatives simultaneously, addressing the expectations of shareholders and stakeholders. CSR in India has traditionally been seen as a philanthropic activity. Under the Clause 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 has introduced the idea of CSR and now it is mandatory for the companies with an annual turnover of more than 1,000 crore INR, or a net worth of more than 500 crore INR, or a net profit of more than five crore INR. The Act encourages companies to spend at least 2% of their average net profit in the previous three years on CSR activities.

Most of the corporates are complying with the CSR policy and implementing various CSR activities/projects for social and environment development in their focused area. Formulation and Implementation of CSR based programme also requires specific attitude, strategy, skill and capabilities for outcome oriented implementation of such initiatives. IFFDC has the aptitude, attitude, skill, capability and experience in implementing such programmes and has started facilitating Corporates in achieving their CSR commitments in result oriented mode. Efforts are being made by IFFDC towards poverty alleviation and sustainable rural livelihood development through extending its services in partnership with Corporates under their CSR initiatives. IFFDC's rural livelihoods approach places people at the centre of development and focuses on building assets and skills so that women and men can access new opportunities for income generation and employment.
